JAZZ-An upbeat, fun & energetic form of dance! Each teacher has slightly different styles of jazz but strong technique skills are stressed in all classes. Jazz can be seen on the Broadway stage or in movies such as Centerstage, Chicago, and Step Up.

TAP-Tap dancing is all about rhythm and coordination. The shoes make it unique (and noisy, too!). This dance form instills a sense of timing and is great fun for adults as well!

GYMNASTIC DANCE-These classes combine acrobatics and tumbling. Mats are used and a small balance beam is used for coordination for our younger students. We present our gymnasts in a performing arts style; on stage to music, in costume and most often with dance steps connecting the tricks.

BALLET-Ballet is the basic foundation on which almost every dance form is based. It is a requirement for any student wishing to belong to our Competition Groups. Classes involve exercises done at the Barre as well as center floor combinations. Ballet develops self-discipline, strength, grace and great posture!

LYRICAL BALLET-Lyrical is a form of ballet that is much more free and open to the interpretation and imagination of the dancer and the teacher. Classical ballet technique is a must for anyone wishing to excel in lyrical. Many music choices are used, from classic ballads to blues to contemporary artists.

HIP HOP-Hip Hop is today's "street style" dance form as seen on MTV and music videos. It is done to current, popular music that the kids & teens enjoy. The studio uses common sense with song content and age-appropriateness.

MUSICAL COMEDY - or “Theater Dance” prepares students to take the stage! Whether in a drama production at school, a comedy dance routine or a character number, techniques are learned to blend projection and personality with the movement. Learning to speak with a microphone, move gracefully across the stage and combine dance steps with lip syncing are all covered in this class.

DANCING DOWN BROADWAY - New for the fall of 2006 is a Broadway dance class designed for students ages 6 and up. This is basically described above in our Musical Comedy section, but the musical selections will be from Broadway plays, both past and present. Each week will feature a different Broadway musical giving the students a taste of Broadway history along the way!
