Now Registering for Summer Classes!
PLEASE SEE DOWNLOADS BELOW FOR ORDER FORMS, SCHEDULES & MORE INFO!
This year, we are excited to showcase students at 4 separate LIVE performances at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Olympia June 26 & 27 at 1 pm and 6 pm. Please see the Show Orders to determine which show(s) your dancers are performing.
Whether this is your first show with Debbi's Dance, Etc. or your 20th, things are quite different than usual to follow COVID protocols, including capacity throughout the Washington Center. We are limited in the number of dancers on stage, the number of people allowed in each dressing room and backstage, and the number of people in the audience. To adhere to covid guidelines, dancers, staff & volunteers will wear masks while onsite at the Washington Center, backstage and onstage. Audience goers will also be required to wear masks unless sitting in their socially distanced seat.
We will not be doing a separate dress rehearsal at the WA Center but will allow time on stage as needed for classes new to performing to get set and perform.
Limited tickets available! Go to https://www.washingtoncenter.org/events/2021-06/ to reserve socially distanced seats in blocks of two. Families needing 1 ticket or a block of 3 seats can contact the WA Center Box Office at email@example.com / 360–753-8586. 1 & 3 seat options are very limited. Tickets are $15 (plus $4 WA Ctr fee). The shows will be recorded and will also be available to watch later via a purchased DVD or purchased online link for fans unable to attend in person or for people wanting to watch the shows over and over again. Dancers are free for the shows they are performing in and will be watching the show from designated dressing room areas with live feed viewing of the performance(s). Children 4 & under may sit on laps in the auditorium this year for FREE to accommodate limited seating due to covid regulations.
Please see the link below to print your event program ahead of time to bring with you to the show or access at the show. Printed programs will not be available at the shows.
The lobby/auditorium will open for audience seating 30 minutes prior to showtimes.
Dancer check-in is at the Black Box Lobby doors at the front of the building and begins 1 hour before showtime. We recommend you arrive with your dancer at that time (Noon for 1 pm shows & 5 pm for 6 pm shows). The Washington Center for the Performing Arts is located at 512 Washington St. SE, Olympia, WA 98501. Parking can be a challenge downtown, so please allow plenty of time to park.
Dancers, please arrive wearing your first dance costume with your hair and make up done and please use the restroom at home.
Optional: Recital hair and eye makeup appointments are available at Fosbre Academy in Olympia this Saturday morning. Fosbre is a full service salon which abides by strict Covid safety guidelines. Our teacher Miss Maddie is a recent graduate of Fosbre’s cosmetology and teaching program and will be supervising cosmetology students. The cost is $25 for hair and eye makeup. If you are interested, contact her right away at 360-485-8354 to book an appointment.
The lobby/auditorium will open for audience seating 30 minutes prior to showtimes.
Due to covid regulations, dancers are not allowed in the audience (unless they are 4 & under and are sitting on laps) and parents are not allowed in the dressing rooms.
Dance Spectacular Dressing Rooms:
Please see Show Orders and Dressing Room Assignments in the downloads section below. At this time, only dancers and staff/volunteers will be allowed in the dressing rooms and backstage and only ticket holders will be allowed in the audience. The exception: moms of our youngest dancers (Princess Ballet classes) can pick up their dancers from the upstairs dressing room after they perform to take home or back to your seat to sit on your lap through the rest of the show and Michelle's Tall & Small/Mini Combo dancers can sit on laps with families for the first part of the show. After the "Train Wreck" lyrical routine performs, please meet Miss Michelle in the lobby to go backstage (If the song "Shake It Off" begins to play, you've missed your cue and need bring your dancer to the lobby or black box dressing room. Please note that is a special exception to WA Center rules this year only for our youngest dancers (normally only age 2 & under can sit on laps) since we don't have room for designated dancer seating in the auditorium and parents are not allowed in the dressing room due to covid capacity regulations. Young dancers sitting in laps who want to participate in our Finale Dancer Parade across stage will need to be in the black box dressing room by the last routine in the show.
The dressing rooms will have monitors so dancers can watch the other performances while they're waiting for their turn to perform.
Dancers and teachers will parade across the stage at the end of the show.
Recital Dancer Pick Up:
When the show is over, dancers can be picked up from the Black Box entrance outside the front of the theatre (the same place they checked-in before the show). Teachers & volunteers will wait with young dancers for parents to pick them up.
To adhere to covid guidelines, dancers, staff & volunteers will wear masks while onsite at the Washington Center, backstage and onstage. Audience goers will also be required to wear masks unless sitting in their socially distanced seat.
Additional Info, Rules & Guidelines:
During the show, please refrain from entering or exiting while a routine is performing. It can be distracting to the dancers and audience members. Please save entering and exiting for in between numbers.
Do not chew gum while wearing your costume.
Cell phones are not allowed on stage and are discouraged in the dressing rooms (reception isn't good anyway).
No taking photos in the dressing room. Please refrain from snapping pictures and taking video during the performances.
Instructions for costumes, including hair and shoes are posted on the Debbi's Dance Spectacular website below. When you receive your costume(s), please make sure all parts and pieces of the costume are in the bag. PLEASE TAKE THE COSTUME OUT OF THE BAG, label all of the pieces with your dancer's name or initials (this includes tights & shoes), hang on a hanger and put in a safe place away from younger siblings and pets. If alterations are needed, they will be the responsibility of the caregiver. Costumes are not to be used for anything (talent shows, dress up, etc) until after the Dance Spectacular Performances. We recommend FUZI Dance Etc. for dance shoes. They are located at 4704 Pacific Ave. SE #A, Lacey, WA 98503. They are open Tues-Fri 11am-5pm and Sat 11-4.

Parson's Photography will use the individual pictures to create virtual class pictures in a covid-safe manner.
The exact time schedule is listed in the downloads section below and will be posted on the window at Debbi's Dance, Etc. We're sorry, but times cannot be changed to accommodate any one student. Our lobby is closed to parents at this time due to COVID capacity guidelines (parents of dancers 5 & under ok). Please allow extra time for parking and bring your dancer to the lobby 10 minutes prior to your scheduled picture time.
